Their Purpose, Saving Lives and Making Lives Better Through Well-Being Solutions, inspires GOJO to continuously innovate and find new ways to enhance the lives of those they touch. They recognize their role in creating a healthy future, and put great effort into understanding and proactively managing the social, environmental and economic impacts of their business.
In 2018, GOJO completed the installation of a 633 kilowatt DC solar array at its 1.3-million-square-foot distribution center in Wooster, Ohio. The GOJO Wooster Campus solar power installation is the largest non-utility scale solar project in Wayne County, is the second largest non-utility scale solar installation in the greater Wayne, Stark, Summit, Portage, and Medina Counties area behind University of Akron’s Louis and Freda Stile Athletic Field rooftop system, and ranks as 52nd overall largest solar project in the State of Ohio. The GOJO solar array provides energy without producing harmful air and water emissions or consuming non-renewable natural resources. The solar array will produce more than 755,000 kilowatt-hours of renewable energy each year, offsetting energy consumption without producing harmful air and water emissions, or consuming non-renewable natural resources. At the end of August 2019, these solar panels have already generated 527 megawatt hours of renewable power – enough energy to power 50 US household’s for one year, and so far has avoided the emission of 351 metric tons of carbon dioxide – the equivalent weight of two blue whales!

The nearby Wooster wastewater treatment plant generates enough renewable electricity to offset all of its use and the nearby water treatment plant. The company also has facilities for compressed natural gas fueling.
